Embrace your inner Italian? No, thanks!
Every country has its beer hero and for Italy, Peroni it is. The bottle is light green and the brew light yellow. I was told the beer itself is light but it turned out to be heavier than most of our Indian beers. While it is a nice, easy to drink beer, there is nothing about it that will make you want to buy it again. When I held it up to my nose, the smell made me put it down for a few seconds and I was convinced that “Nastro Azzurro” is Italian for Nostril Attack. It has a great amount of bitterness and the aroma is exceptionally strong with hints of a sweet floral nature. Not bad with Italian cuisine when served chilled (the beer, not the food), though it tastes like soapwater when it gets warmer. Would I pay for this? No!
