Theatres Des Vampires is a gothic metal band from Italy. Their music is supposed to have a black metal touch but I can’t hear it. Their new album Moonlight Waltz is a collection of upbeat tunes with heavy orchestration; it makes for a few fun listens. Despite their name and the stuff they claim to sing about (vampires – I used to be one), they won’t scare you at all. It just sounds very… light. The vocals are superb – this Sonya babe can really sing! The dude can sing too – he does some operatic vocals. The title track is very good, as are a few others – even though it isn’t black metal or dark gothic metal, it kicks the shit out of all the music Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth have made in the last few years… combined. There… I’ve just given you a good reason to check out Theatres Des Vampires’ Moonlight Waltz. Let me give you a better one.
