Shimit Amin sets his pace with a third big step and keeps off corny muck at all times. With apt dialogue by the ton, Jaideep Sahni’s story has a Sardar eager to excel at his first job pissing the big boss off in no time. Jeered at by his workmates, humiliated by the boss and almost fired from his company, HP Singh (Kapoor) partners with a few colleagues to start a new business venture. Things take off and Singh also develops a love interest, which runs parallel to the story for a bit and doesn’t overstay its welcome. Kapoor’s Rocket Sales Corporation comprises of a computer engineer addicted to porn, an aggressive sales senior with a semi-handlebar mustache and strange sideburns, a peon who occasionally brews tea, and model Gauhar Khan who besides being sexy can act and is highly watchable. Shazahn Padamsee and Prem Chopra add to the story without being overbearing, and the man who plays the boss Puri is superb. Shimit Amin shapes the film as he goes along, and lets the sweet taste of victory be savoured without jubilant gloating.
