Movie Review: Date Night

A couple out on a dinner date to add excitement to their marriage take somebody else’s reservation at a fancy seafood restaurant and get into serious trouble with bad cops who mistake them for somebody else. Trying to outwit the baddies, Steve Carell and Tina Fey spend the whole night running from one place to another, Mark Wahlberg’s home where his hot lover asks the married couple if they’ll be joining them for a sex session. Going to the cops doesn’t help, and Fey and Carell ram Wahlberg’s car into a taxi and manage to get the two stuck and later they run into bigger fish. The couple sort of pole dance at one point and I know somebody who looks like Tina Fey. Date Night is a 90-minute movie that doesn’t seem even that long, which means it doesn’t get boring at all, and in fact, is a light watch that you need to go for soon because it’s already been in theatres for three weeks now.

I have been a big fan of Steve Carell since his popular sitcom ‘Office’ days in which he plays a goofy boss. And Tina Fey is famous for her uncanny resemblance with Sarah Palin. Both are fabulous actors renowned for their comic timings.

What I like about Steve’s acting is his comic vulnerability which he portrays with amazing subtlety. He is simply entertaining. And it’s not an over statement!

Steve brings his brand of comedy which will keep you in splits or at least, make you smile. I assure you if script is good and Steve is a kind of actor who will take it a notch above!

Tina Fey is a wonderful, charming, witty, beautiful actress herself. Her body language is very upbeat and oozes charm. She is a complete package as an actress.

It means this movie is treat for the senses. In this sizzling heat, it would be fun enjoying a movie that promises and delivers you a good time. Definitely, I ain’t going to miss out on this fun filled, romantic comedy. 🙂
