Restaurant Review: Papa Pancho Da Dhaba

You may be forgiven for thinking you’re in for a good time when you walk into Papa Pancho Da Dhaba, for the décor is fantastic. We walk into the original one at Pali Naka, Bandra because we’re tired of waiting for a table at Jai Hind Lunch Home and one of the chicks wants to pee. Too much information. The ‘dhaba’ setting at Papa Pancho Da Dhaba is perfect, it looks like a very colourful dhaba. A glass of buttermilk at Papa Pancho Da Dhaba costs 80 bucks. The other lady asks for Lassi (85/-) which comes in a huge glass and tastes exactly like Aarey Lassi, which is a good thing, except Aarey’s Lassi is ten times cheaper.

I have a glass of water and decide on Bhuna Gosht and Mutton Biryani. The Bhuna Gosht comes in a brass thali (I’m a sucker for such things) with dahi, two parathas and kali dal. The mutton is succulent and the dahi is perfect, but it isn’t worth 250 rupees. The black dal isn’t very good, either.

The Mutton Biryani comes with kachoombar and papad, but isn’t worth 225 bucks. I’d be happy if the biryani was bursting with flavour, but it’s not. I’m not even going to bother with any vegetarian food here; the prices are making me laugh. Everything here is overpriced, and if Papa Pancho Da Dhaba can’t impress me with a dal, a mutton gravy, or a rice dish, I don’t have any reason to waste more money trying other stuff here. Next!

I’d have walked in with a purpose into Papa Pancho Ka Dhaba to satiate my voracious appetite to savour every morsel of any dish. But when I’d have seen the exorbitant prices of the menus. I’d have laughed all the way while walking out.

After all what’s a visit to a Dhaba if you don’t order a creamy Lassi or for that matter, Butter Chicken & parathas with sprinkling of pure Desi Ghee??????? But 85 bucks for a glass is bit too much to digest, I feel. I’d have to order a Soda then. It will cost what 60 bucks??????????? 😛

Dude, when I was letting my taste buds go on a hyper drive and enjoy the whole process of eating the food. You ruined it mahn by mentioning some chick who wanted to Pee in a Dhaba!!!!!!!! It’s completely unheard of. But what the heck!! The benefit of doubt to the chick as she must have gulped down the Glass of creamy Lassi. And yeah, the rates must have made her feel like it. 😛 hahaha

All in all, it seems worth visiting at least once. I’ll definitely not dig in. But I’d rather place an order cautiously. hahaha 😉 \m/

Papa ‘Rancho’ Ka Dhaba – Dude, this name will be only for the name sake. Definitely, a Gujju or a Marwari must be running this place! 😉 Arre DICKro, Maara Paisa dubi gayo Papa ‘Rancho’ Ke Dhabe maa! Ain’t it frigging hilarious??? ( Please forgive my juvenile attempt at Gujarati lingo!) 😉 \m/

Say no more, gal, say no more! I can’t stop myself from bursting into hordes of loud laughs! Mista Paaji – The name says it all.

The service & accommodation to dine itself must be worth ridiculing. I can’t imagine sitting in this cramped place and eat in peace. And on top of that, I despise it when a waiter hovers around us like a Housefly hovers around food. It’s damn irritating. I feel like saying, dude, what’s your problem????? Do you want a bite or something?????? heheh 😉

If I had my way, I’d rather make a movie or perhaps a short film on how Indian hotels run the show! 😉
